Le Four à Chaux is located on the outskirts of the historical wine village of Sablet in the northern part of the Provence, quiet but not isolated amidst the vineyards. The few neighbor houses are situated in such a way that they guarantee privacy but also a feeling of safety when the house is not inhabited.

It is a ten-minute stroll to Sablet (where you will find all shops for every day needs, a medical center, 2 restaurants and a typical French café) and less by car to the nearby medieval villages of Séguret, Gigondas, Vacquéras and Rasteau, all famous for their Côte-du-Rhône wines.

The location of the house is unique: the Rhône valley at one side of the house, the national park Dentelles de Montmirail (with several beautiful marked hiking and cycling trails) on the other side, on walking distance. The Mont Ventoux, the famous landmark of the Tour de France, is nearby and offers splendid views over the region and beyond.

Le Four à Chaux is located in the Vaucluse; the history and cultural wealth of this region is legendary. Within a twenty-kilometer radius you will find the little towns of Vaison-La-Romaine, Carpentras, and Orange, with their historical sites, Roman ruins, and ancient theatres. The papal city of Avignon is a short drive away, and the Roman towns of Nîmes, Arles and Aix - well known for their festivals and museums - are all within comfortable driving. Further afield are the cities of Marseille and Montpellier, the beaches of the Côte d’Azur, the National Parks of the Camargue and the Vercors, the Canyons of the Ardèche and the Verdon rivers. For those who like winter sports, the greatest alpine resorts of France are within a three-hour drive. Italy 3 hours. Spain and Barcelona 4 to 5 hours.

The area is also famous for it's culinary enjoyment. Wine lovers will find domaines and caves à vins in abundance where one can taste and buy excellent wines direct from the winemakers. Food lovers will find a lot of nice restaurants in the neighborhood where they practice traditional Provençal cooking. Home cooks can indulge themselves in the daily food markets in nearby villages.

The reachability of the house is excellent. The A7 motorway (Route du Soleil) is less than half an hour away. Avignon airport (40 km) - Nîmes airport (90 km)- Marseille-Provence airport (110 km) - Montpellier airport (130 km)- Toulon airport (215 km)- Lyon airport (240 km) can bring you everywhere in Europe and beyond. Intercontinental flights to Paris are directly connected to the TGV high-speed train to Avignon (2h35 minutes) as are trains from London, Brussels and Amsterdam.
